ABOUT ABOUT

USE THIS OPTION TO PURCHASE TICKETS TO *BOTH* ONE-ACT MATINEE PERFORMANCES

Please note that there is a one-hour break between performances, during which CFTC is offering a FREE Family Improv event! Led by our Summer Drama camp counselors and instructor Matt Chapman, join us for 30 minutes of theatre improv games and your chance to experience the magic and power of theatre firsthand.

Also note that the 2pm Saturday production of "The Velveteen Rabbit" will be modified to accommodate audiences preferring "sensory-friendly" theatre.

ABOUT THE SHOWS (note that tickets can be purchased separately through a different TicketLeap event if you only want to see one of the two shows):

THE VELVETEEN RABBIT (appropriate for all audiences).  Written for the Boston Children’s Theatre, Burgess Clark’s adaption of “The Velveteen Rabbit” brings a heartwarming story of unconditional love between a boy and his toy bunny and a story of how love can make one “real.” Presented by the City of Fairfax Theatre Company and Truro Anglican Church, “The Velveteen Rabbit” brings love, magic and joy this holiday season.

THE LITTLE MATCH GIRL (appropriate for ages 10+). CFTC and Truro Anglican Church present a relevant, contemporary spin on the Hans Christian Andersen holiday classic. Packed with meaning and important issues facing our communities, “The Little Match Girl” is a magical story with humor and compassion appropriate for the holiday season.

This year, in the spirit of "The Little Match Girl," CFTC has invited representatives from Second Story (formerly Alternative House) to provide some information after the show about the work they are doing in the Northern Virginia/DC area as the area's only shelter for teens in crisis.  If you'd like, we welcome you to bring a donation of a non-perishable or personal care item for Second Story.  Items needed include:

  • Hygiene products (i.e. shaving cream, deodorant, body wash)
  • Food (i.e. canned goods, non-perishables, taco shells, pasta sauce)
  • Shoes
  • Metro passes
  • Gift cards: In small amounts ($5-10 increments) to grocery stores or home goods stores such as Walmart, Target, or Bed, Bath & Beyond.
