ABOUT ABOUT

School Grades 3-8

Join us for some Improvisational fun! Instructor Jim Andrukonis presents three evenings of Improv instruction and games for students grades 3-8. If you have never tried theatre before, this is a great place to begin. Improv is a form of theatre in which the actors use improvisational acting techniques to perform spontaneously. It’s a great tool to break out of your shell, build communication skills, create self esteem and have a great time with new friends.

Classes are held at Truro Anglican Church, 10520 Main Street, Fairfax, VA.

Classes are from 6:00pm-8:00pm

Jim Andrukonis
Jim has been a student and teacher of improvisation at Frost Middle School in Fairfax for nearly thirty years.  He’s familiar with seventy or more improvisation games and is happy to make up more when the spirit or situation moves him.  He is the co-coordinator of the Northern Virginia Writing Project’s Young Writers Program at George Mason University and frequently uses improvisation to stimulate writing.  Mr. Andrukonis has had several short skits published in PLAYS magazine, many developed from improvisation scenes performed in his class.  An avid sportsman as well, it is the team concept of improvisation that Jim finds so appealing.
