For hundreds of years, Black people in America have had to fight for their voices to be heard. As a theatre company we know the power of telling a story and recognize that we can do better about who’s stories we tell. As people around the country are shouting, Black Lives Matter, we are reminded of our position to center and uplift the voices of Black people and all those who have been made to feel as though they do not matter. You matter.

CFTC presents “Black Women’s Voices Concert,” "a fundraiser for CFTC's new diversity initiatives, with 50% of the proceeds donated to The National Coalition of 100 Black Women, NoVA Chapter. Hosted by CFTC’s newest board member, Diversity and Inclusion Chairman Chrystina Herring. We are committed to using the arts  to uplift the voices of marginalized communities and bring people together in a culture of listening and understanding. The outdoor concert will feature performances by CFTC favorites Stacey Claytor, Khanner Hancock, Bruni Herring, and Chrystina Herring. Live event space is limited and the performance will also be streamed online for free on the CFTC Facebook page.

The event will be in the style of lawn seating at Wolf Trap, BYO food, drink and seating. The event will feature an ice cream bar hosted by Chef O’Dell. Masks are required for entry at the event and must be worn until/unless seated. Parties will be seated at six feet increments. The entire event will be limited to 50 people, including performers and staff.

The venue is not handicap accessible.

Bathrooms are available and will be stocked with disinfectant and paper towels. Attendees will be asked to wipe down toilets and sinks after each use.

Leave no trace - attendees will be asked to take their own trash home at the end of the night.

Hand sanitizer with at least 70 percent alcohol will be provided at the site. A sink with soap and water will be available when the rehearsal or performance venue permits. Hand sanitizer use of children under 10 will be supervised.
