ABOUT ABOUT

True West
by Sam Shepard

Directed by Matt Chapman

Sam Shepard’s American classic follows the volatile relationship of Austin, an aspiring writer and Lee, recently released from prison, who's aspirations may be reliving his past or perhaps his brother's future.  The estranged brothers find themselves holed up together in their mother's tidy suburban home with a typewriter, a set of golf clubs and the undeniable struggles of a family with a conflicted past and an uncertain future. This unplanned family reunion wrestles with many questions about who we are and how we get there.

_______________________________________________________________________________

The City of Fairfax Theatre Company is excited to welcome our performers, crew, volunteers, students, and patrons back to live classes and performances.  Given the ongoing concerns with COVID-19, it is our duty to protect our patrons as well as our amazing team of volunteers. We align our safety protocols with recommendations made by the CDC, the Fairfax County Department of Health and the City of Fairfax.  Based upon the new CDC metrics, the Fairfax Health District has returned to a low level of Covid-19 spread, therefore masks are no longer required of visitors while inside Fairfax City facilities. To protect the health and safety of our volunteers and patrons, however, CFTC recommends (but does not require) all children and adults to wear masks and to continue with self-administered health checks prior to their attendance of auditions, rehearsals, and performances.  Proof of vaccination against Covid-19 is no longer required at CFTC events.

Anyone who is sick or displaying COVID-19 symptoms should not attend a CFTC event or class. Attendees who begin displaying any Covid-19 symptoms are requested to leave immediately.

CFTC has established a flexible refund policy for anyone who falls ill, must care for a sick household member or is at high risk of contracting Covid-19 and can no longer attend the event. Please contact [email protected] to obtain a refund. Camp refunds will follow Fairfax City Parks and Rec policy.

If you have any questions regarding CFTC’s Covid policy, please contact us at: [email protected].
